The
Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia would like
to thank the Government of Australia for the
excellent manner in which it has handled
the security scare involving the sending of two
envelopes containing suspicious substances to
the Embassy these past few days. The
Embassy is relieved to learn that both
suspicious packages were proven to be
harmless.
The
Embassy strongly deplores those who have sent
these suspicious packages and wishes to
reiterate that Indonesia will not succumb to
such acts of intimidation.
Ambassador
Imron Cotan wishes to use this opportunity to
publicly thank the people of Australia who have
inundated the Embassy with messages of sympathy
and support and hopes that these reckless acts
will instead strengthen our determination to
further the relations between the two
neighboring countries.
