The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Canberra is delighted to announce that President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, accompanied by the First Lady and a number of cabinet members as well as other high-ranking officials, has decided to embark upon a state visit to Australia, 03-06 April 2005.

The visit is the first by an Indonesian leader who has been directly and democratically elected by the Indonesian people.

During the visit President SusiIo Bambang Yudhoyono and PM John Howard are expected to discuss ways and means to further improve the bilateral relations that happily existed between the two neighboring and friendly countries. It is against this backdrop that both leaders are tentatively slated to witness as well as sign a series of agreements relating to health, technology, civil aviation, and comprehensive partnership.
