The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Canberra is deeply saddened to receive information on the tragic incident occurred yesterday (02/04/2005), during which a HMAS Kanimbla bound-helicopter has crashed in Nias island, claiming the lives of Australia’s servicemen and injuring some others.
The Embassy wishes to convey its sincerest sympathy and deepest condolences to the Government of Australia and its people and, in particular, the bereaved families, in the hope that they would be able to weather this indeed unbearable suffering.
The Embassy is absolutely convinced that the Indonesian Government and its people will always feel indebted to those who have wholeheartedly devoted their energies and sacrificed their lives to help lessen the burden of our fellow countrymen devastated by the recent tsunami and earthquakes in Indonesia.
