It has come
to the Embassy's knowledge that two explosions occurred around
23.30 last night in Denpasar, Bali, during which many innocent
people have fallen victims. Some of the victims are foreign tourists,
notably Australians.
The Indonesian
authorities are now seriously probing the incidents in order to
establish the cause of, and the motives behind, the explosions.
The Embassy
of the Republic of Indonesia in Canberra is deeply disturbed by
the incidents and wishes to use this opportunity to convey its
deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.
The government
of Indonesia is determined to find those responsible and accordingly
bring them to justice.
