The speaker of the People's Consultative Assembly of Indonesia (MPR-RI), Dr. H. Muhammad Hidayat Nur Wahid will visit Australia to attend and present a keynote speech at the 'Second Indonesia Next 2005 : Building the Blueprint of the Indonesian State' conference at the Australian National University (ANU), Canberra on Friday, 13 May 2005.

During his visit, Dr. Wahid is expected to meet the Prime Minister of Australia, the Hon. John Howard and President of the Senate, Senator the Hon. Paul Calvert. Dr. Wahid is also expected to hold talks with Australia's Minister for Foreign Affairs, the Attorney General, Leader of the Opposition, Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Security, members of the Joint Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade, and members of the Australia-Indonesia Parliamentary Group.

Dr. Wahid will also travel to Sydney and Melbourne to meet with scholars, community leaders and the Indonesian community.
