On the 6th & 7th of November,
the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in
Canberra were happy to participate in the celebrations
of Cockington Green Garden's 25th birthday.
Cockington Green is one of Canberra's great
tourist attractions, amazing visitors with its
beautiful gardens and intricate models of villages,
towns, iconic scenes and the wonders of the
world - including Indonesia's famous Borobudur
temple.
The heads of various diplomatic
missions to Australia, including His Excellency
Imron Cotan, attended the celebrations and met
with, and welcomed questions from, the many
visitors. Each representative mission involved
prepared spectacular cultural performances and
informative displays and local children were
invited to enter in the Indonesian Embassy's
first colouring-in competition. The weekend
was a wonderful success and the staff of the
Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia greatly
enjoyed celebrating the birthday of one of Canberra's
icons.
