Iriantos, a traditional dance group from
Manokwari, Irian Jaya, participated in the National Multicultural
Festival in Canberra, on 14 and 15 February 2004, by performing
Tifa, Mayai Marowa and Fire dances.
The team consisted of 26 dancers and singers,
led by Mr. Ocky Raubaba, and came specially to Canberra
to fulfill an invitation from the Indonesian Embassy in
Canberra to participate in the above mentioned annual
festival.
Iriantos also performed at the Wisma Indonesia,
before the Ambassador, embassy staff and the Indonesian
community of Canberra. Appearing here are the pictures
of Ambassador Cotan presenting a souvenir to the leader,
Mr. Ocky Raubaba, and the group performing one of their
traditional dances and songs.
