Eighteen members of the Indonesia Scouts
from Yayasan Penabur Junior High School Jakarta and the
Islamic Boarding Schools of Gontor, Darunnajah Jakarta,
As-Salam Sukabumi, and Al-Falah Surabaya who had participated
at The 20th Australian Jamboree in Adelaide, South Australia,
from 5 - 15 January 2004 had visited the Indonesia Embassy
in Canberra on 19 January 2004 to meet the Ambassador,
H.E. Imron Cotan and other embassy staff.
During the 10 days of the Jamboree, the
Indonesian Scouts won the Jamboree Award, the Camping
Award and were presented with a special certificate for
completing 95 % of the Jamboree's many and varied activities.
They also performed Reog Ponorogo at the Main Arena, and
were one of three overseas contingents that were honored
to perform at that place.
H.E. Imron Cotan congratulated the Indonesian
Scouts on their success and hoped that the participants
had gained something from the activities, especially in
building deeper understanding and friendship between the
younger generations of the two countries.
The following pictures show Ambassador
Cotan welcoming all the participants, the speech by the
Ambassador, group pictures with the embassy staff and
the participants singing a song.
