Indonesia, Garuda Orient Holidays, Sunshine Australia
Travel, Runner-up of Mister Jakarta 2002 Mr Sadeko Tukul,
and Miss Orchida Ramadhania as Miss Jakarta 2002, participated
in the Canberra Travel and Holiday Show Exhibition, which
was held on 27-29 June 2003, in Coorong Pavilion, National
Exhibition Park, Mitchell, Canberra. The exhibition was
officially opened on 27 June 2003, attended also by Charge
d'Affaires Ad Interim of the Indonesian Embassy, Mr Imron
Cotan.
The Indonesian participation in this exhibition
aimed to promote the culture and tourism of Indonesia,
in particular Jakarta - the capital city of Indonesia.
Many visitors from Australia visited the Indonesia 'stand'
in the exhibition and enjoyed it very much, as they got
insightful information about the tourist sites in Indonesia
and tourist packages. Most importantly, the exhibition
was also a good opportunity to explain to Australians
that Indonesia is now safe to visit.
To introduce more about the Indonesian
cultures to Australians, the Indonesian Embassy also offered
a performance of Indonesian traditional dances, including
from Jakarta, during the exhibition.
