TEMPORARY STAY VISA (VITAS)        

        
        Temporary Stay Visa is good for a single entry if presented within 3 (three) months from the date of issuance and is valid for a maximum stay of 1 (one) year). It is granted upon the authorization of the Directorate General of Immigration in Jakarta. To expedite the authorization, it is advisable to have the sponsor in Indonesia submit also the application directly to the Directorate General of Immigration in Jakarta. VITAS can be extended in Indonesia.

        VITAS are for working and non-working purposes; such as foreign investment, family re union, repatriation, and retirement.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Application form must be completed in duplicate with two passport size photographs (2X2 inch).
  2. Passport must be valid for at least 18 (six) months after the date of entry.
  3. A copy of the airline ticket/itinerary from the travel agent.
  4. A complete and updated Curriculum Vitae.
  5. An Indonesian immigration authorization letter is required
  6. Visa fee A$ 165.00 and has to be made in money order or company cheque payable to the Indonesian Embassy.
  7. It requires at least 3 (three) working days to process the visa.
  8. Payment of the visa administration fee does not guarantee that the application will be successful.
  9. For those who want to apply to the Indonesian Embassy in Canberra using mail, please send all of the documents including the passport and return-paid envelope (registered post/express post) to our address: INDONESIAN EMBASSY, ATTN: VISA SECTION, 8 DARWIN AVENUE YARRALUMLA, ACT 2600.

Please note:

For those who are joining their spouse or parent who are Indonesian citizens living in Indonesia, and who are accompanying their spouse or parent who are foreign citizens living in Indonesia holding Temporary Stay Permits, must submit a copy of their Marriage Certificate and/or their Birth Certificate.

For those conducting activities in Religious Mission, Research, Education, Social Fields, must enclose the original and a copy of a letter of recommendation from the institution or specific department/division that has assigned them.

For those who wish to work in a foreign investment or domestic investment venture, or is a technical professional on assignment by a foreign aid organization, must furnish a letter of recommendation from a relevant department, the Department of Manpower and Transmigration, the Investment Coordinating Board, and a copy of the letter of agreement to employ foreign labour.

For those seeking repatriation (returning to the country of origin), must provide proof of former Indonesian citizenship and proof of a guarantee of living expenses in Indonesia.
